Recorded at Montreal's premiere venue for alternative rock, punk and metal, the Piranha Bar, "Liars Cheaters Thieves" features Andrew Johnston and the Hurricane at their 2012 peak after a year of playing shows around eastern Canada. The recording features the rock solid rhythm section of Denis Paquin and Alex Lapointe, as well as the precise linear shredding of guitarist Marcel A. Not unlike Nels Cline's contributions to Wilco, Marcel A. adds a distinctive jazz influenced texture, absent from the recorded versions on the album "The Wake of the Wonder Years." The addition of veteran keys man Dave Lines evokes an E Street band-esque wall of sound that significantly elevates the proceedings. Recorded and mixed by Hurricane guitarist Al Isler, and Philippe Palanque "Liars, Cheaters, Thieves" documents a band poised for great things in 2013.
